Donation to the Debrecen Clinic to Support Liver Disease Screening

Our organization hosted a charity football tournament in June, with employees from our partner companies participating. Last year, we supported pediatric care through our charity event, and this year we chose the field of gastroenterology.
“For Hunép Zrt., it has always been important to create something lasting beyond our achievements in the industry and the fulfillment of our client contracts,” said the CEO of Hunép Zrt., Miklós Bakos.
The Gastroenterology Clinic is dedicated to treating all types of digestive system diseases. The clinic performs exceptionally well both nationally and across Europe, with its medical, research, and educational activities highly recognized.
“Gastroenterology as a profession is actually one of the most exciting and dynamically developing areas of conservative medicine, part of traditional internal medicine. It is precisely the branch that — alongside cardiology — is the most open towards interventions, invasions, and active procedures,” emphasized István Altorjay, President of the Public Benefit Association of Gastroenterologists in the Debrecen Region.
Mária Papp, Director of the Gastroenterology Clinic, stated that most liver diseases remain symptom-free for years, making early detection extremely important. Screening examinations are conducted using a device called a FibroScan, and the clinic plans to use Hunép Zrt.’s donation to purchase such a device.
“There is a mobile version of this device, which is significant because it is not location-bound. During a screening program, it can easily move together with the physician and healthcare staff from one office to another, or from one settlement to another,” emphasized Mária Papp.
The director added that acquiring a FibroScan device would enable the launch of a liver fibrosis screening program for residents of Hajdú-Bihar County. The Gastroenterology Clinic hopes to have the opportunity to start this within the next year.
