Unique Style and International Standards – The Renewed Hotel Lycium Debrecen Completed by HUNÉP

On January 12, 2026, the renewed Hotel Lycium Debrecen reopened its doors in a celebratory event. Now operating under the Handwritten Collection brand of the globally recognized Accor Group, this iconic hotel stands as Hungary’s first Handwritten Collection outside the capital. The project was brought to life through the investment of the SZINORG Group and the precise, high-quality construction work of HUNÉP Zrt., completed in just 11 months.

A Key Role in the City’s Tourism Growth

With 92 fully renovated guest rooms—including Superior, Deluxe, and Suite categories—modern communal spaces, a new restaurant, cutting-edge conference facilities, and advanced building management systems, the hotel aims to elevate Debrecen as a prime destination for business and conference tourism. The interior design concept was envisioned by Krisztina Fülöp, lead designer at KompDesign Studio, in full compliance with Accor’s international standards.

Partnership for Debrecen’s Future

During the reopening ceremony, a five-party strategic cooperation agreement was signed between SZINORG Universal Zrt., Szinerty Kft., Accor HotelServices Hungary Ltd., the Municipality of Debrecen, and FŐNIX Event Management Nonprofit Ltd., reinforcing a shared commitment to sustainable and high-quality urban development.
