We are proud to be part of this outstanding project that aims to boost the city\u2019s tourism and economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Under an international brand, the four-star hotel will be operated by the SZINORG Group in collaboration with the Accor Group, one of the world\u2019s leading hotel chains, offering internationally recognized service standards for primarily business guests in Debrecen under the Accor Handwritten Collection<\/strong> brand. Handwritten Collection is one of Accor\u2019s midscale brands, alongside Novotel, Mercure, and Tribe. The technical and operational standards of the Handwritten Collection comply with the HSU\u2019s four-star hotel requirements. All Accor midscale hotels operating in Hungary hold a 4 or 4superior HSU rating. The Mercure Debrecen Hotel on Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Street\u2014also developed in 2022 by another SZINORG Group subsidiary, Bajcsy Invest Kft.\u2014and Hotel Lycium<\/em>*** Debrecen will be jointly operated within the Accor Group, representing strong potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Frank Reul<\/strong>, Vice President of Development for Accor Eastern Europe, noted that the group owns 3,000 properties across Europe and is present in Hungary in cities including Budapest, Tokaj, Sz\u00e9kesfeh\u00e9rv\u00e1r, and Gy\u0151r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe Accor Group mainly renovates existing hotels and elevates them to a new level while preserving local values. This philosophy gave birth to the Handwritten brand in 2022, which currently groups together 26 hotels. The core concept of the brand is to maintain the original character, atmosphere, and cultural heritage of each building,\u201d he said. He also emphasized the belief that conference tourism will play a key role in the city, adding that this segment brings the greatest added value within the tourism industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n S\u00e1ndor Szab\u00f3<\/strong>, Deputy CEO of the SZINORG Group, presented the hotel\u2019s future plans and technical specifications. He spoke about the group\u2019s prior successful cooperation with Accor during the development of Mercure Debrecen. Thanks to this international partnership, they have acquired expertise that enables profitable hotel operations even in the face of rising energy costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHotel Lycium is a building with traditions and values that we definitely wanted to preserve, which is why we are keeping the name Lycium, complemented by the Handwritten Collection brand.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n He also noted that current trends in the hotel industry show a shift in guest priorities\u2014from rooms to communal spaces. Guests increasingly prefer to spend their time in the bar, restaurant, or lobby. For this reason, the same team that worked on the Mercure project was entrusted with the renovation. The ground floor of the hotel will undergo a complete transformation to create a more inviting atmosphere. Flooring will be replaced, a small restaurant will take the place of the former bar, and the conference rooms will also be renewed.
