In this esteemed competition, BORD Architectural Studio reached the finals in two categories with their designs for Debrecen&#8217;s Aquaticum beach bath. Aquaticum Debrecen Strand made it to the top five in both the &#8216;Gyms and Recreation Centers&#8217; category and the special &#8216;PLUS&#8217; category &#8216;Architecture + Engineering.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The complex, constructed by Hun\u00e9p Zrt., outperformed buildings such as Dubai&#8217;s Museum of the Future, which won the audience award, China&#8217;s Skyboat, Cambridge&#8217;s Paper Store Museum, and the Crystal, a horizontal skyscraper in Chongqing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/hunep.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/strandsbmagazin-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5430 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hunep.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/strandsbmagazin-1.jpg 900w, https:\/\/www.hunep.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/strandsbmagazin-1-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hunep.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/strandsbmagazin-1-768x384.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><strong>Above-Expected Attendance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new beach in Nagyerd\u0151 opened last summer, and over 161,000 people have already visited the complex this year. It has won the approval of both the public and the profession. During the planning phase, the Dutch Mark Magazine ranked the beach among the best project plans of recent times. Furthermore, in January this year, the Royal Institute of British Architects, the UK&#8217;s highest-circulation architectural magazine, featured Aquaticum Debrecen on its cover, recognizing it as one of the world&#8217;s best sustainable architectural creations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The facility reopened in mid-May, and based on last year&#8217;s experiences and guest feedback, several changes were made to the beach with the help of HUN\u00c9P.
